Original Aviation Skin Dt. Luftwaffe, Breguet Atlantic
This remarkable aircraft was constructed in 1966 and served as a vital part of the German Navy. Its service life came to a close in 2001 when it was officially retired and designated as an "Instructional Airframe".
In 2005, the time had come to bid farewell, and the aircraft was dismantled. Its wings, however, found a new home at the Museum Flugwelt Altenburg Nobitz, where our journey begins. The Breguet Atlantic, also known as the BR 1150, was a unique maritime patrol aircraft developed through international collaboration. This exceptional aircraft was specifically designed for maritime reconnaissance, patrols, and anti-submarine warfare. Unlike many other maritime patrol aircraft that were adapted from civilian aircraft, the Breguet Atlantic was built from the ground up to excel in these very roles.
